WHY DOES THIS BUG ME SOOOOO MUCH!

This is really silly but for some reason this drives me up the wall and since moving to New Jersey it has become a full blown Pet Peeve! I CAN'T STAND IT WHEN PEOPLE HAVE A HANDICAP SIGN ON OR IN THEIR CAR AND THEY DON'T NEED IT!

See, I told you it was something very silly. Yes, I understand that there are those who have the tag in their car because they may have a friend or family that they are in charge of chauffering that is truly handicapped, BUT . . . if that person is not in your car, don't park in a handicap spot! My first sighting here in New Jersey was when our family went to Olive Garden for a bite to eat. We had about an hour and a half wait (yup, we wait for Olive Garden here in NJ as well! LOL) and I was sitting on the sidewalk with my kids. Well, out comes a young couple and gets into the car right in front of me, which is a handicap spot, they close their door and then reach for the handicap tag and take it off their mirror and then drive off! How RUDE! The other day I was walking into Sam's to get some groceries and saw this SUV parked in the handicap spot and this very fit lady in her spandex exercise outfit, looking all cute and what not, with no problem at all loading her groceries into her car, that had what? A handicap tag hanging from her rear view mirror! Honestly, New Jersey, half of you don't need a handicap branded car!

So fun that you guys have a blog!! I really enjoy them because I feel like I can keep up with all the people I feel close to but dont see enough (like you guys!!) I have to say I am totally out of the "car loop" I haven't had one for almost 3 years, so I don't even notice the handicap signs, in fact I can't remember the last time I went somewhere that even had a parking lot...sad I know. Have a grea day!

I'm pretty sure half the population of Jersey is mentally handicapped. Still, a mental handicap should not entitle anyone to a handicap decal. If you can use your legs with out any type of cane etc. you should walk the same distance from car to door.

I know! That is so annoying. I personally think that mom's should be allowed to have handicap parking tags. Sometimes I see these moms with dragging mutiple kids(one being a baby in a car seat) behind them as they push a cart piled high with groceries and bags from one end of the parking lot to the other while at the same time trying not to be hit by any cars. Its crazy I tell ya! I sometimes have problems with my one, so I know it has to be a nightmare for these moms.

How do I get one of these signs??

Erica, you live in NJ so I don't think you have to do anything! I'm positive that they just hand them out here! ROTFL!

I have to confess...one time i broke my leg when i was at Utah State Univ and i got a temporary pass so i could get to campus and get around campus easier(on crutches). Well, i used it a couple times after my leg was better (before the pass expired) and once a man in a wheelchair saw me parking in a handicapped spot and he started screaming at me, etc... i was amazed. how did he know i didnt have a disability not visible?!!! Give these people some slack..who knows what could be wrong!!! so fun to be a new blogger with you all. YEESSSS!
